"Prom Queen" is inspired by my own high school experience where instead of going to prom, I hung out at my local In-N-Out with my friend Gaby. Like most queer teenagers who worried about seeming out of place, I was always too scared to go to my school dances. However, my friend Gaby told me that if I wasn't going to prom, I should at least do something special to remember the night. At the time, it was like our usual hangouts, so I never saw the point. Now years later, I can look back fondly on that night and be grateful that I have something to remember prom by.
